“My name is Ebere and I am a member of children’s Group Link. I initially joined during March 2019 as part of my work experience in school and I wanted to do the Pobal Project, but I became very busy on the scheduled day, so I joined the teenage group. The members on the teenage group were and are so friendly when I joined. I made lots of new friends. Group Link to me is a place where I can have fun and chill, whether that is by a movie night, playing hockey, or just have a grand celebration. I really enjoy being a member of Group Link as I get to go on many adventures and trips, and I have also gained vital experiences such as participating in the YEI programme and House of Horrors. Thank you Group Link”. Ebere

“Group Link has done so much for me, none of which I can ever pay back. The staff and young members helped me to feel welcome and loved. I joined in October and Group Link has honestly become a second home for me. I love all the games we play, the sports and activities on the pitch etc. You can confide in the staff about anything you are going through, and Group Link has been a major support for me. I am so grateful for my place in Group Link. It has really helped me socially, I have met so many new friends, I have developed new personal skills and found a warm environment where I can thrive. Thank you Group Link”. Alicia

“Group Link has been one of the best things to be part of as a young person. It has made me more confident, friendly, independent, and happy. Group Link has opened a mass of opportunities for me and if it weren’t for all the volunteer work I did there, I wouldn’t have been picked to go to America for HLCA. The staff and volunteers put so much effort creating new things for us to do every week. They have great time and support for us and for that I am forever grateful for". Rhianna

“Group Link is above all things, an inviting and easy going place. I have built up friendships with a wide range of people solely from attending Group Link. When you come to Group Link you can chill out with friends for a while and can play different sports and activities. I have been in Group Link for a number of years and it means a lot to me. It has helped my confidence greatly and is definitely one of the highlights of my week. As a person I wouldn’t be where I am today without Group Link.” Adam

“I joined Group Link two years ago through the Pobal Project. I have achieved so much through the many different events and programmes I attended e.g. the Pobal Project, House of Horrors, The Big Quiz, Winterval etc. I’ve enjoyed our get-togethers on and off the premises e.g. playing dodge-ball with my friends on the pitch and the Summer Holiday in Tramore. Through Group Link, I have gained another family and I am truly grateful for it.” Chloe

“Group Link for me has helped me come out of my comfort zone and open up in group discussions and one to one. The people in Group Link are amazing and very supportive of our needs as young people. They have helped me make new friends and improved my personal & communication skills with my peers and other young people. They have given me opportunities that I wouldn’t have gotten in school or anywhere else. They have also helped me narrow down a very big pile of college courses that I was looking into. Group Link has given me the opportunity to volunteer with younger members to develop my skills further. Group Link has done a lot for me and I am very grateful.” Eoifa

“I have been at Group Link for over 2 years now and I have to say I love it. All the staff and members are great and super friendly. The atmosphere there is amazing. Group Link means a lot to me as it has helped me come out of my shell and be a lot more confident in myself and I don’t think I could go a week without being there.” Daniel

“Group Link has been a place for me to make new friends, learn new skills and  have fun. I really enjoyed taking part in the House of Horrors last October and Winterval over Christmas”. Chloe

“Me being in Group Link has changed me a lot. It has helped me with my confidence, and I have made a lot of new friends most of them I could call family like Denise and Brendan because you lot are always there. I’ve had a lot of fun in Group Link with all the events and the YEI. I really like going on the pitch with everyone and beating the girls every time and I am really glad I joined Group Link”. Jamie

“What does Group Link mean to me? That’s a good question – put it this way, to me it’s my happy place, it’s a place where no matter what mood you are in, you’ll always manage to be filled with joy and laughter by just being there. I have only been a part of Group Link for a short time, but it has impacted my life massively. Being able to socialise with new people and not being judged is by far the best feeling ever and that’s what Group Link is; it’s a safe space” Iszzy

“I started up in Group Link about 6 or 7 years ago and it’s been absolutely the best years of my life. I have so much more confidence in myself as a person and as a volunteer and have learned so much about myself – but not only that; I have made so many great and wonderful friends and I have so many memories that I will keep and laugh at. It’s like a home from home for me. Everything about Group Link is amazing – from the staff and volunteers to all the children and teenagers – we are one big family and they are all feel like my family. I wouldn’t change anything about the last 7 years of my life. Thank you Group Link”. Batrice
